Trustees Heard a Presentation and Update on the District's Legislative Platform for the 2025 Legislative Session and 2025-26 Biennium
Trustees received an update from Pinyon Public Affairs on the 2025 legislative session and the 2025-26 biennium. Recommended and received feedback include maintaining SB231 resources, eliminating the regional cost adjustment factors, examining class sizes, and streamlining the current policy platform.
Additional potential areas of interest among Trustees include student supports for high-needs students, funding levels, reducing administrative burdens on districts, eliminating unfunded mandates, fully funding weights for certain student populations, reducing standardized testing, universal school lunches, and modifying star ratings to exclude absenteeism.
