Trustees approved proposed revisions to Board Policy 7086, school closure. This approval initiates the 13-day public review and comment period. Revisions to the policy include:

  • Proposed updates were to the language existing policy (permanent closure of a school)
  • New language for a fifth policy related to school closure or change of use or function was added as proposed language

Trustees Approved the District's FY2026-2030 Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan

 

Trustees discussed the District's Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan. Highlights of the plan and discussion included:

 

  • Financial breakdown of significant financing and funding sources
  • Highlighted the importance of funds toward playground materials, supporting learning through play for WCSD children
  • Foundation of the plan drives equitable data-driven upgrade,s balancing reinvestment, community engagement, and bold planning

Trustees Received an Update on the Outcomes of the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session
