Trustees Received an Update on the Facilities Modernization Plan

• Tammy Zimmerman, Chief Facilities Management Officer presented the history of the Facilities Modernization Plan which began in 2016
• Prioritizing facility equity and efficacy for students and staff and every project will come before the public committees as well as the board of trustees
• Presented several schools or school projects involved in the modernization plan with two projects under construction, six projects in design, and four upcoming projects

Trustees Approved the Recommendation of Award for the Development of an Administrative Facilities Master Plan

Trustees approved the recommendation of award for consultant selection for the development of an administrative facilities master plan to CannonDesign of Nevada, Inc., in the amount of $1,621,690.

Trustees Received an Update on the 2025 Legislative Session

• Dylan Shaver, of Pinyon Public Affairs, shared key dates (March 17^th 2025 – Bill introductions, April 11^th – First committee passage, April 2^nd – Adjournment sine die) associated with the upcoming legislative session
• Encouraged trustees to familiarize themselves with bills that may impact WCSD in the upcoming legislative session
• Presented the district's legislative priorities 1) Create space for students to thrive 2) Empower our personnel 3) Support our local community 4) Advocate for smart, strategic funding

• School spotlight: Edward C. Reed High School for improvement/increases in Dual Credit graduation and students earning Honors/CCR/Advanced Diplomas
• Student spotlight: Kaylana Wallace, awarded Presidential Scholarship at the University of Nevada, Reno
• Teacher Spotlight: Josh Rosenbloom, principal of Reed High School, for leading the charge on increasing Dual Credit enrollment and graduation

• Attended Redfield Community Outreach Luncheon for field trips and engaging opportunities to children via the Redfield Foundation
• Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology (AACT) and Marce Herz schools recognized by the governor as model STEM schools

Pampublikong Komento

• Appreciation for the incoming internship from CTE programs and hesitation in celebrating high graduation rates if other achievement metrics are poor
• Urge for the importance of anti-discrimination in the WCSD
