Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Clark

¿Qué es el Consejo de Administración y de qué es responsable? Los fideicomisarios del CCSD toman las decisiones del distrito escolar. Siete miembros son elegidos según el distrito; cuatro son representantes designados de los cuatro municipios más grandes del Condado de Clark (Condado de Clark, Ciudad de Las Vegas, Ciudad de Henderson y Ciudad de North Las Vegas). Son responsables de supervisar al Superintendente y establecer la política de todo el distrito. ¿Con qué frecuencia se reúne el Consejo de Administración? Los administradores se reúnen dos veces al mes (segundo y cuarto jueves) a las 17.00 horas, tanto virtualmente como en la sala de juntas del Centro Educativo Edward A. Greer (2832 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89121).

Trustees Heard the Board President and Superintendent Year in Review

  • This year, the Board showed an impressive level of teamwork in duties including adopting a governance model, selecting a new superintendent, and selecting legal counsel.
  • CCSD accomplishments this year include strengthening financial practices, opening or rebuilding 7 campuses, 97.5% of bus routes running on time, only 3% of schools experiencing a major operating issue on day 1, and significant academic growth across the district.
  • Future goals include strengthening school safety, reviewing district grading policy, and increasing proficiency rates.

Trustees Heard a Presentation on the Annual Independent Auditor’s Report for FY Ending June 30, 2025

Trustees Approved the 2026 Amended Final Budget (7-0)

Trustees approved the 2026 amended final budget. Highlights of the presentation included:

  • The amended final budget is based on updated information including audited budget information from the 2025 fiscal year and first quarter enrollment counts.
  • The General Fund opening fund balance decreased by $164.3 million due to a lower than predicted school and Medium-Term bond fund carry forward, as well as a change in how prepaid items are calculated.
  • The portion of the budget that is unassigned is 4.25%, which meets the requirements of CCSD Regulation 3110 and NAC 354.650.

Trustees Conducted a Public Hearing on and Accepted the Revisions to the 2025-27 Negotiated Agreement between CCSD and the Clark County Education Association (7-0)

Trustees held a public hearing on and approved revisions to the 2025-26 Negotiated Agreement with the Clark County Education Association. Revisions included:

  • Updated language about teachers’ civil and criminal proceedings records and specified that these records may be used as evidence but only specific records (e.g., felonies) can be added to a teacher’s personnel file.
  • Added “Speech Language Pathologist” to the list of positions that receive a new salary placement when transferring into the position.
  • Removed outdated references.

Trustees Held a Public Hearing On and Approved the Indian Policies and Procedures for Federal Impact Aid Program, Section 7003 (7-0)

Trustees held a public hearing on, then approved the Indian Policies and Procedures for Federal Impact Aid Program, Section 7003.

  • Language referring to the “Las Vegas Paiute Tribe of the Las Vegas Indian Colony” has been updated to “Las Vegas Paiute Tribe”.
  • In addition to direct communication with parents/guardians, correspondence will be emailed to the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe Education Department, which will then distribute the information to the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe Tribal Council and the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe Education Committee.

Trustees Approved a Notice of Intent Relating to CCSD Regulation 4100 (7-0)

Trustees approved a Notice of Intent relating to CCSD Regulation 4100 – Relationships, Interactions, and Communications Between District Employees or Representatives/Volunteers and Students. Changes to the regulation include:

  • Clarified that independent contractors and vendors who have unsupervised contact with students are required to submit fingerprints and pass a background check.
  • Clarified that members of work-based learning programs are not included in the fingerprinting requirement unless they directly oversee the participation of or have unsupervised contact with a student.
  • Nonprofit organizations can no longer exempt an individual from the fingerprinting requirement for volunteers who are likely to have unsupervised contact with students.
  • Specified that public entities can exempt members from the fingerprinting requirement provided multiple conditions are met.
