¿Qué es la Junta Directiva y de qué es responsable? La Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Washoe es el órgano decisorio elegido públicamente para el distrito escolar. Son responsables de supervisar al Superintendente y de establecer la política del Distrito. Los administradores son responsables de trabajar con sus comunidades para mejorar el rendimiento de los estudiantes.

Trustees approved the draft board resolution 26-001, a resolution concerning the financing of school improvements; directing the Chief Financial Officer to notify the oversight panel for school facilities an debt management commission of the district's proposal to issue general obligation bonds, in one series or more, in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $500,000,000; providing certain details in connection therewith; and providing the effective date.

Trustees received a presentation regarding progress of internships and work-based learning in the Washoe County School District and plans for continued expansion and proclamation honoring Career and Technical Education (CTE) month in the Washoe County School District.

- The first full-time internship coordinator (Crystal Edwards) was positioned in the CTE department during the summer of 2024.
- Nevada Department of Education works closely to ensure internships administered/supported by the CTE department are 60 hours in length and bear academic credit.
- The long-term goal is to expand internship promotion opportunities to 100% of students in grades 10-12.

Trustees received a presentation regarding community partnerships to include the Community Health Alliance, The Food Bank, and Reno Rotary and how they support student academic achievement.

- Discussed the importance of Community-School Interdependence: Employers and Economic Development, Tax Dollars, and Quality Instruction result in better results for all.
