Trustees heard a presentation on CCSD’s Facilities Master Plan. Highlights from the update included:
- Workshops, meetings, and surveys have shown that top priorities include students and learning, equitable access to facilities, and openness to changes in facilities.
- Enrollment will decrease in the near future, so it would be good to focus on improving existing facilities over building new facilities.
- Many schools were built in the 1990s-2000s and are now in need of major renovations.
- Next steps include finding geographic gaps in service, analyzing and reporting on a facility adequacy assessment, and looking at sister and partner schools models.
