Trustees approved a Notice of Intent regarding amendments to CCSD Regulation 1211, relating to public records. Highlights of the proposed changes included:

  • Adding information on how public records requests are submitted and how to find publicly available information that doesn’t require a formal public records request.
  • Updating language on how public records requests are handled, including what type of requests can’t be fulfilled and what assistance can be given to the requester in that situation.
  • Specifying when records can’t be given in electronic format.
  • Outlining when and how fees are charged for public records.

Trustees Approved Appointments to the Sex Education Advisory Committee (7-0)

Trustees approved recommendations made by the Sex Education Advisory Committee to appoint Counseling representative Carissa Quantrino, Teacher representative Keith R. Frank, parent representatives Arcelia Barajas, Nakia Jackson-Hale, Joanna Soto, Amanda Stephens, and Dei Thomas, and non-voting student members Shay Bravo-Bezard and Cara McAnallen, as members to the Committee. The new members will serve two-year terms, commencing January 9, 2026 – June 30, 2027.

Trustees held a public hearing on a Notice of Intent to issue general obligation (limited tax) building bonds additionally secured by pledged revenues, in an amount up to $200,000,000, in order to finance all or a portion of the cost of constructing, expanding, improving, and equipping school facilities.

Trustees Approved a Memorandum of Agreement between CCSD and Workforce Connections (6-0-1)

Trustees approved a Memorandum of Agreement between CCSD and Workforce Connections to operate and provide vocational rehabilitation workforce services and resources to adult education students at Adult Education Programs and Desert Rose Adult Education Programs. Highlights of the agreement included:

  • Workforce Connections will provide vocational rehabilitation services to adult learners as well as supplementing high school education to help students be more career-ready
  • The agreement lasts until July 31, 2027, and there is no impact to the General Fund.
